Seattle Mariners’ OF trio catches spring attention – for their hair

There’s plenty of reason to pay attention to the Seattle Mariners’ starting outfielders this season. But it’s not just their talent that is standing out in Arizona.
Julio after facing Muñoz: ‘That AB was not comfortable at all’
The hairstyles of Julio Rodríguez, Randy Arozarena and Victor Robles have been turning heads in the early weeks of spring training.
It started with Arozarena, who showed to camp sporting platinum blond locks – something he’s done in the past, but a new look for those just getting to know him after the Mariners made a big trade to get him last season from the Tampa Bay Rays.
Rodríguez had a pretty striking do when he showed up to camp, too. In a tribute to his friend and soon-to-be Baseball Hall of Fame member Ichiro Suzuki, Rodríguez arrived with Ichiro’s No. 51 and the letters “HOF” stylishly shaved into the back of his haircut.

What about Robles? Well, he actually showed up with his usual haircut. But that didn’t last for long.
Following Arozarena’s lead, Robles and Rodríguez showed up Sunday with hair adjustments of their own.

Rodríguez still has the Ichiro tribute, but he’s accented it with blond highlights. And Robles has also lightened up his much shorter hair.
That being said, Arozarena’s blond hair stands out way more than that of his teammates, who look more like they went the “Sun In” route (don’t act like you don’t know what I’m talking about) than a full-blown dye job.
The Mariners understandably have high hopes for their outfield as the three players get ready for their first full season together. About a month prior to Seattle’s trade for Arozarena, they signed Robles, a former highly-ranked prospect who had been released by the Washington Nationals. The Robles addition worked so well, the M’s actually signed him to a contract extension through 2026 with a team option for 2027 last August.
Buhner’s surprising ‘pick to click’ for Seattle Mariners in 2025
Arozarena had a quiet first few months with the Mariners, but he’s a former Rookie of the Year winner and All-Star with a flair for the dramatic and reputation as one of the best big-game players in baseball.
And Rodríguez, of course, is one of MLB’s brightest young stars, a multi-time All-Star with MVP-level talent.
If all three play to the best of the potential in 2025, it will mean big things for Seattle. Based on their decision to sport matching (kind of) haircuts, they sure seem happy to be playing together.
