Mariners Notebook: Rehabbing relievers making good progress

Of note: Arozarena is leading off on his 30th birthday. … Donovan Solano gets into his first game this spring and does so with a twist, as he is at third base rather than first base, where it was expected he would see his most time. The Mariners do want to see him on the other corner as well, so he gets a look at third base Friday night. … A healthy dose of what should be this year’s Mariners bullpen are slated to follow Woo, with relievers Trent Thornton, Gabe Speier, Tayler Saucedo and Collin Snider all scheduled to pitch, along with prospect Brandyn Garcia, who is expected to be in Seattle at some point this season.

Notes

• The Tommy John rehab reliever group threw impressive bullpen sessions Friday afternoon. Matt Brash and Jackson Kowar threw side by side, with Brash cleared to ramp up to 92 mph and throwing a couple of 93s. Kowar, who is believed to be a month behind Brash in his recovery, was throwing 88-90 mph. Newly reacquired Trevor Gott, another reliever coming off Tommy John surgery, also was in the 88-90 mph range.

• Infielder Leo Rivas, who rolled an ankle earlier this week, did running drills with a trainer and is expected to return to games in the next few days.

• Luke Raley was back in the clubhouse Friday morning after missing a couple of days for the birth of his first child. Congrats to the Raleys, who are now proud parents of a healthy baby girl, Reagan Raley. Raley was given a day to get back into his baseball routine and should be in the lineup Saturday.

• Pitching probables for the weekend: Emerson Hancock is scheduled to get the start Saturday against the Chicago White Sox in Peoria and Logan Gilbert is slated to start Sunday against the Colorado Rockies at Salt River Fields. The Opening Day starter has yet to be announced, and while Gilbert was the first to pitch in Cactus League play, with upcoming off days the current order could easily be flipped later in the month.
