Mariners have league-high 7 MLB Pipeline Top 100 prospects

The Seattle Mariners once again lead all organizations with seven prospects in MLB Pipeline’s 2026 preseason Top 100, which was unveiled Friday evening.

It’s a slight dip from Pipeline’s midseason 2025 rankings, which featured a league-high nine Mariners Top 100 prospects – the most of any organization since the San Diego Padres in 2019. Since last summer, M’s shortstop prospect Felnin Celesten fell out of the Top 100, and Seattle traded catcher prospect Harry Ford to the Washington Nationals in exchange for reliever Jose A. Ferrer.

Here are the Mariners’ seven Top 100 prospects, all of whom remained on the list from the 2025 midseason ranking.

9. SS/3B Colt Emerson

Age: 20
Draft: 1st round, 2023 (No. 22 overall)
2025 level: High-A/Double-A/Triple-A
2025 stats: .285/.383/.458, 16 HR, 14 SB (130 games)

Emerson is exceptionally advanced for his young age, having showcased one of the most polished hit tools in the minors. The lefty slugger added some power last season and ended the year in Triple-A, where he went 8 for 22 with two homers in six games. He has a chance to make the big league club out of spring training.

21. LHP Kade Anderson

Age: 21
Draft: 1st round, 2025 (No. 3 overall)

Anderson, a 6-foot-2 southpaw, starred in LSU’s national title run last season. He posted a 3.18 ERA with 180 strikeouts and 35 walks over 119 innings, capped by a three-hit shutout in Game 1 of the Men’s College World Series finals. He didn’t pitch in the minors last summer due to his heavy workload at LSU, but he’s considered the most MLB-ready pitcher in his draft class and could move quickly through Seattle’s system.

33. RHP Ryan Sloan

Age: 19
Draft: 2nd round, 2024
2025 level: Low-A/High-A
2025 stats: 3.73 ERA, 82 IP (21 starts), 90 strikeouts, 15 BB, 1.16 WHIP

Sloan was the biggest riser among Mariners prospects, surging from No. 44 to No. 33. The 6-foot-5 right-hander had a strong pro debut last season, posting a 27% strikeout rate while showcasing an impressive three-pitch arsenal – headlined by a fastball that touches 99 mph and a sinking kick-change, according to MLB Pipeline.

43. OF Lazaro Montes

Age: 21
International class: 2022 (Cuba)
2025 level: High-A/Double-A
2025 stats: .241/.354/.504, 32 HR (131 games)

Montes put his tantalizing raw power on full display last season, blasting 32 home runs to finish tied for the third-most long balls in the minor leagues. However, the 6-foot-5 lefty slugger saw his batting average dip following a midseason promotion. After hitting .268 with 18 homers in High-A, he batted .213 with 14 homers in Double-A.

67. 2B Michael Arroyo

Age: 21
International class: 2022 (Colombia)
2025 level: High-A/Double-A
2025 stats: .262/.401/.433, 17 HR (121 games)

Arroyo has had a productive past two seasons of full-season ball, posting a .910 OPS across Low-A and High-A in 2024, followed by an .834 OPS across High-A and Double-A in 2025. He could move to the outfield, due to the Mariners’ crowded collection of highly touted infield talent.

78. OF Jonny Farmelo

Age: 21
Draft: 1st round, 2023 (No. 29 overall)
2025 level: High-A
2025 stats: .230/.318/.460, 6 HR (29 games)

Farmelo has been limited to just 75 games over his first two pro seasons due to a torn ACL and a stress reaction in his rib. He’s performed well when healthy, posting an .805 OPS with 10 homers and 20 steals across two levels.

91. SHP Jurrangelo Cijntje

Age: 22
Draft: 1st round, 2024 (No. 15 overall)
2025 level: High-A/Double-A
2025 total stats: 3.99 ERA, 108 1/3 IP (23 starts), 120 strikeouts, 51 BB, 1.22 WHIP
2025 RHP stats: .198 opp. batting avg., 111 strikeouts, 32 BB (397 batters faced)
2025 LHP stats: .289 opp. batting avg., 9 strikeouts, 19 BB (62 batters faced)

As a switch-pitcher, Cijntje is a unicorn talent who can pitch with both arms. However, it’s become clear that his velocity, stuff and control are much better from the right side, where his fastball has touched 99 mph.
