Mariners Lineup: Lazaro Montes in RF for T-Mobile Park debut

Seattle Mariners rookie outfielder Lazaro Montes will play in the field for the first time when he makes his home debut at T-Mobile Park on Thursday night.

The 21-year-old Montes is batting seventh as the right fielder for Seattle’s series opener against the Athletics.

Lazaro Montes brings Mariners something they were missing

Montes, ranked as the No. 56 prospect in baseball by MLB Pipeline, made his MLB debut with a bang on Tuesday night at Fenway Park in Boston with a 2-for-4 performance at the plate that included his first home run in the majors.

The rest of Seattle’s lineup looks fairly typical as it takes on right-hander Jack Perkins.

Arozarena is coming off a huge series in Boston where he batted .400 (6 for 15) with two homers, one double and RBIs over three games. He’ll be looking to continue his hot streak against Perkins, a pitcher he’s homered off twice in four career at-bats.

Rookie left-hander Kade Anderson is set to make his third career start and second at T-Mobile Park. Below is a look at the A’s lineup he will face.
