The Seattle Mariners on Thursday announced they exercised closer Andrés Muñoz’s $9 million contract option for the 2027 season.

The team also announced it declined staring pitcher Bryce Miller’s $6.075 million contract option for next year and outfielder Victor Robles’ $9 million contract option. Miller remains under club control as he enters second-to-last year of arbitration. Robles is now a free agent.
Seattle’s 40-man roster is now down to 34 players.
Muñoz, a two-time All-Star, is coming off a down season in which he tied for the MLB lead with 10 blown saves while posting a career-high 4.24 ERA. The 27-year-old right-hander struck out 89 batters and allowed 24 walks over 57 1/3 innings in 61 appearances in 2026. He had a 5-6 record and 28 saves while posting a 1.22 WHIP.
Muñoz has another $9 million club option remaining on his contract for the 2028 campaign.
The 28-year-old Miller is coming off a rollercoaster campaign in which began the year on the injured list and was stellar upon his mid-May return but closed the year going without a win over his final 13 starts. The right-hander posted a 4-10 record, 4.17 ERA and 1.16 WHIP while striking out 119 batters and walking 38 over 118 2/3 innings in 22 outings (21 starts).
Miller and the Mariners had agreed to a one-year deal with a club option for 2027 in January to avoid arbitration for this past season.
Robles, 29, turned a breakout 2024 season into a two-year deal with the Mariners, but has appeared in just 97 games over the past two seasons. In 2026, the right-handed-hitting outfielder slashed .256/.315/.308 with three doubles, two triples, no homers, 10 stolen bases, nine walks and 22 strikeouts in 65 games.
Robles joins outfielders Randy Arozarena and Taylor Ward, shortstop J.P. Crawford and reliever Hoby Milner as Mariners to become free agents this offseason. Free agents become free to sign with any club at 2 p.m. Nov. 2.
