Andrés Muñoz is "potentially available" in a save situation Tuesday, just two days after he left a game with a knee injury concern.

The Seattle Mariners don’t expect Andrés Muñoz to miss any time after having to exit Sunday’s win in Colorado with an injury concern.

With Mariners on brink of elimination, here’s what they’re trying to avoid

Mariners general manager Justin Hollander provided an update Tuesday on the two-time All-Star closer prior to the team’s series opener at T-Mobile Park against the Houston Astros, sharing that an MRI found “nothing significant.”

Hollander said Muñoz was “potentially available” Tuesday night in a save situation, but that the Mariners would “evaluate where’s he at” prior to the game.

“It’s just something that he’s been dealing with off and on a little bit, some hip soreness and knee soreness,” Hollander said. “So there’s not like an event that caused the injury, just the usual rigors of the season.”

Muñoz exited Sunday’s game in the ninth inning after facing three batters, which included a home run and a walk. Eduard Bazardo took over to record the final two outs of Seattle’s 2-1 win over the Rockies.

A 27-year-old right-hander, it’s been an up and down season for Muñoz. He has a 4.24 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and .216 opponent batting average in 61 appearances (57 1/3 innings), and has converted 28 of 38 save opportunities.

The Mariners open their final homestand of the regular season with Tuesday’s 6:40 p.m. game against the Astros. Mariners Radio Network coverage on Seattle Sports begins at 5:30 with the pregame show.
