Seattle Mariners star catcher Cal Raleigh has already taken full advantage of MLB Players’ Weekend, debuting a set of bats with custom paint jobs that featured the humorous inscription “BIG BUTT… BIGGER BOMBS” along the barrel.
And now, he’s knocked it out of the park again.
This time, in a heartwarming way.
For Sunday night’s annual Little League Classic game against the New York Mets, Raleigh will don a customized chest protector that features Little League photos of his Mariners teammates and coaching staff.

Raleigh and the Mariners are making their first appearance at the Little League Classic, which is an annual game played at the site of the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pa.
The event is held in conjunction with the LLWS, which gives Little Leaguers an opportunity to interact with MLB players. The game will be played at Historic Bowman Field in front of an intimate crowd composed mostly of Little Leaguers and their families. This is the eight edition of the event, which began in 2017.

Raleigh is in the midst of a historic season with an MLB-leading 46 home runs. He’s just two homers away from matching the single-season record for home runs by a catcher, which was set by Salvador Perez with 48 in 2021.
Sunday’s game is the rubber match of Seattle’s three-game series against the Mets. The first two games were played approximately 160 miles east of Williamsport at the Mets’ Citi Field. The Mariners won Friday’s opener 11-9, but lost Saturday’s game 3-1.
The Little League Classic begins at 4:10 p.m. and will be televised nationally as part of ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball broadcast. You can hear the radio broadcast of the game on 710 AM Seattle Sports and the Seattle Sports app, beginning with the pregame show at 3 p.m.
