In the spring, Washington defensive tackle Greg Gaines tore a pectoral muscle, putting a big question mark on his season. However, he’s bounced back nicely and answered all the questions, and is considered a second- or third-rounder if he would turn pro after the season.
No. 5 UW Huskies’ defense living up to its billing so far
Gaines is a 6-1, 321 defensive tackle. His lack of height allows him to get low and underneath blockers. He’s a run-stopper — and a good one. Say what you want about Gaines, but his availability is one of his strengths; he played 13 games in 2015 and has played every game this year. Suffice it to say the Huskies defense is always gaining because of the good play of Greg Gaines.
