Gee: Freshman TE Hunter Bryant will stand out to Huskies fans

During my son’s freshman year of high school at Eastside Catholic, there was this 6-foot-3, 240-pound young man I got to watch excel on and off the field.

Speed, hands, strength, and power were what caught my eye on the field. He was a man child out there. I would tell my son all the time to learn as much as you can from him.

It was Hunter Bryant, who was Rivals.com’s No. 2 recruit in the state of Washington his senior year. Now he’s a freshman tight end at the University of Washington.

Hunter is a special talent and a name that you will hear quite often in the future. The same size, strength, and hands that stood out to me will be something that most UW fans will notice. He still has much to learn, and he will from Washington tight end coach Jordan Paopao, who along with head coach Chris Petersen were the main reasons that Hunter chose UW.

So remember the name Hunter Bryant. He will wear No. 19 this season, and I’m excited that a lot of fans will get to see what I saw for an entire year last year. The kid is special.
