Hands-on science, technology, engineering, art & math activities for the whole family. Free for ACM members and included with admission. Ages 18 and under get in free thanks to Tacoma Creates.
Driven: Cars, Movies and the American Dream
Saturday, October 17th | 11:30am – 12:30pm
Through film clips and behind-the-scenes stories, this talk examines how movies have used automobiles to reflect American ideas about freedom, youth, masculinity, status, rebellion, technology, and the open road. From the Iron Man to the Flintstones, from Stephen King’s Christine to Marty McFly, from Ford to Ferrari, we’ll explore what our favorite movie automobiles tell us about America, and ourselves.
Trunk or Treat
Saturday, October 31 | 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Free community event with food trucks, entertainment, trunk decor, and more thanks to Tacoma Creates!
