Stelton: Which Mariners should make the American League All-Star team?

The Mariners enter Tuesday with the fourth-best record in all of baseball, but with the All-Star Game less than a month away, no Mariners are near winning the fan vote to start at their position in Washington, D.C.

That’s not to say the Mariners don’t have deserving candidates.

Closer Edwin Díaz already has 27 saves, five more than the next best in the majors. James Paxton threw a no-hitter and has solidified himself as an ace. Mitch Haniger is second in the American League in RBIs and looks to be on his way to a 30-homer, 100-RBI season. And Jean Segura has the second-best average in the MLB (.340) and is in the top 15 in the AL in stolen bases, runs scored, doubles and RBIs.
