Stelton: Seattle showed it has strong appetite for both NHL and NBA

The first day of the NHL Seattle season ticket drive couldn’t have been more of a success.

NHL Seattle met its goal of 10,000 deposits in 12 minutes and surpassed 25,000 in an hour, bringing the city one step closer to an expansion franchise for a new arena at Seattle Center in 2020. And while it was a clear indication that fans here are ready for a pro hockey franchise, it also sent a message to the NBA that Seattle is ready for pro basketball to return.
