Edge rusher is something many view as a position of need for the Seahawks in 2019. Temple University standout and 2018 draft pick Jacob Martin is still learning to play at the NFL level, but this season, he’s looking to fill that need for Seattle.

The key to DE Jacob Martin’s progression with Seahawks

As for what the skills he’s honed in on early in training camp, he describes the things you’d like to see in a player looking to make a leap forward in his second year.

“I would say just coming out here and getting really technically and focusing on little details of the game,” he told 710 ESPN Seattle’s Brock and Salk.

In 2019, Martin has made sure to prepare for training camp in virtually every facet, from his skill level as a pass rusher, to his diet.

“Last year, every day was a new day for me. Every week, that was a new experience for me,” he noted. “Last year coming in and not having the offseason I really wanted to have to prepare myself for the season, I wasn’t eating the way I need to be. This year I got a whole new diet.”

You can check out Martin’s full interview with Brock and Salk above.
