There are still plenty of questions and no answers about the allegations of performance-enhancing drug use against Seahawks stars Richard Sherman and Brandon Browner.

USA Today’s Mike Garafolo reports Sherman originally told someone he tested positive for Adderall because he accidentally drank from a teammate’s water bottle. That teammate has a prescription for the drug, an anonymous source told Garafolo.

But in an interview with KIRO Radio, Garafolo says Sherman is now denying that, telling another reporter that scenario is “totally false” and that he has “never taken anything.”

Both Sherman and Browner face four-game suspensions for violating the league’s policy on performance-enhancing drugs.

Garafolo says it’s likely both will argue in their appeal the testing protocol wasn’t followed. Garafolo says an anonymous source tells him Browner saw the mistake.

“He claims that he saw urine poured from one bottle into a different bottle so he is contending that if someone elses urine had the Adderall in it that’s how it go into mine some way, somehow,” Garafolo says.

Sherman’s agent refused comment, although the player has denied any wrongdoing on Twitter. Browner’s representatives are still investigating along with the NFL Players Association.

The appeals are expected to be heard next week.
