The Seahawks’ offensive line has shown marked improvement from 2017, but they’ll have their hands full against the Vikings’ front seven in Monday night’s matchup. Spearheading that group is defensive end Danielle Hunter, who leads the team in sacks (11.5), quarterback hits (15) and has one defensive touchdown.

Hunter, 24, joined 710 ESPN Seattle John Clayton Friday to talk about how this current version of the Seahawks compares to the Seahawks team he faced in August.

“They’ve been running the ball a lot more than passing the ball, so that’s really something that we’ve noticed on film,” Hunter said of Seattle’s offense. “So that’s something we’ve been trying to take note of, seeing what they do on certain downs and all that. That’s definitely the difference between what we’ve seen in preseason and now.”

After rushing for less than 75 yards in each of their first two games, the Seahawks have averaged almost 150 rushing yards per game every week since then.

Meanwhile, Minnesota’s defense has managed to limit teams to 99 rushing yards per game. They’re not too shabby against the pass, either. They’ve allowed just 15 passing touchdowns and have registered 36 sacks.

Hunter will be lined up against Seahawks right tackle Germain Ifedi. Coincidentally, the two have been playing opposite each other since college, when Ifedi was at Texas A&M and Hunter was at LSU.

Hunter also talked about how he’s developed as a pass rusher this season and how the Vikings defense can contain Russell Wilson. Listen to the entire interview in the audio clip embedded above, or on Clayton’s podcast page.
