Sources: Mariners to hire Scott Servais as manager

The Mariners will name Scott Servais as their next manager, sources tell 710 ESPN Seattle’s Mike Salk, who reports that the announcement will be made Friday.

Sources: Scott Servais will be named Mariner's manager later today. I've been speculating that he'd get the job for a while.

Servais played 11 major-league seasons as a catcher and was previously an assistant to the general manager in Anaheim, where he worked with new Mariners GM Jerry Dipoto. Servais was expected to be the front runner for the Mariners’ managerial job.
