We knew the Seahawks were going to playing at Green Bay after the end of last season.

But that was the last thing on Eddie Lacy’s mind when he signed with the Seahawks in March.

Seahawks Insider: Sheldon Richardson’s job description not as complicated now

“I had no idea,” he said.

So what did he think when the schedule was announced in April and he learned his first game with his new team would be in the city where he began his NFL career.

“I laughed,” Lacy said. “Like, ‘This is kind of weird.’ But I guess that would happen to me.”

Lacy was drafted by the Packers in the second round in 2013, chosen with the 61st pick overall. The Seahawks chose Christine Michael with the next selection.

Lacy made the Pro Bowl as an alternate after his rookie season, replacing Adrian Peterson in the game. Lacy scored 11 touchdowns for the Packers that season in what turned out to be a high-water mark for him with the Packers.

He played in five games last season because of an ankle injury, and while the Packers wanted to re-sign him, he opted for a fresh start in Seattle on a one-year contract.

Thomas Rawls remains a question mark of sorts after missing the final three preseason games because of a high ankle sprain, which means Lacy very well could start his first game for his new team in the stadium that used to be his home field.

If he scores, will he jump up into the crowd as Packers players often do after a touchdown in what has been dubbed the Lambeau Leap?

“Part of me wants to,” Lacy said. “But I really don’t want to get pushed down.”

“I really don’t know how the crowd would react to that. Maybe I could find like a small patch of Seahawks fans and do it there.”
