Finally: Robinson Cano answers why Ed Sheeran is his walk-up music

There are several unanswered questions around the game of baseball right now.

Will Yankees slugger Aaron Judge become the new face of the league? Can the Astros be stopped? And why does Robinson Cano sometimes walk up to the plate to an Ed Sheeran song?

Well, we can cross that last one off the list, because “Danny, Dave and Moore” got to the bottom of it.

“I’m the kind of guy, I use whatever I like. I like the song, it’s got a really good beat,” Cano said when Jim Moore asked about his use of the Sheeran hit “Shape of You” as part of the soundtrack to his season. “I listen to everything. It’s just how I feel in the moment. … That song is really nice. I love it.”

Cano and the guys covered much more than that in their interview Friday at Edgar’s Cantina inside Safeco Field. They talked about him winning this year’s All-Star Game MVP award, why he chose a Corvette over a truck as a prize for winning that honor, and Jean Segura’s “amazing” defensive performance to save a win in Houston earlier in the week.
