With John Ross gone, who will be the Huskies’ playmakers in 2017?

John Ross’ early departure to the NFL will leave the Huskies with a sizable void in their offense next season.

An 81-catch, 1,150-yard, 17-touchdown-sized void.

That’s what Ross produced as a junior for Washington in 2016 to go along with a rushing touchdown and another on a kickoff return. That’s a lot of big plays that the Huskies will have to replace in 2017.

Damon Huard, the Huskies’ radio analyst, stepped away from spring practice on Friday to fill in for his brother Brock on an all-UW-football-edition of “Blue 42.” Huard listed some of the receivers that could emerge as playmakers for UW in 2017 alongside returning starter Dante Pettis. He also identified what he thinks the most competitive position battle will be heading into next season as well as the biggest challenge coach Chris Petersen will face over the next few years, a question also posed in Thursday’s “Blue 42” to Bruce Feldman of FOX Sports.
