Solak: How Seahawks’ Macdonald has ‘big edge’ over 49ers’ Shanahan
It’s unclear whether the 32-year-old Williams experienced a setback or the team is playing it cautious ahead of Sunday’s NFC West showdown against the unbeaten San Francisco 49ers, ESPN’s Brady Henderson reported.
Williams injured his ankle in the fourth quarter of Seattle’s win over the Los Angeles Chargers this past Sunday. The following morning, head coach Mike Macdonald told Seattle Sports’ Brock and Salk the Seahawks were “optimistic” the three-time Pro Bowler could play against San Francisco.
Meanwhile, safety Ty Okada (hamstring) was a full participant for the third straight practice, which puts him on track to make his season debut Sunday after missing Seattle’s first four games.
Cornerback Nehemiah Pritchett (ankle) and running back George Holani (ribs) were limited for the second straight day. Right guard Beau Stephens (knee) and backup linebacker Tyrice Knight (ankle) progressed to full participation Thursday after being limited Wednesday.
