Toglia, 28, was placed on waivers by the Cincinnati Reds.

A switch-hitting first baseman/outfielder, Toglia was a first-round pick in the 2019 draft by the Colorado Rockies after his college career at UCLA. He was also selected by Colorado in the 35th round of the 2016 draft when he was coming out of high school.

Toglia has appeared in 290 games over five seasons with the Rockies and Reds. He has a career .198/.275/.384 slash line with 42 homers in 290 games.

His best year came in 2024 when produced a .218/.311/.456 slash line with a career-high 25 homers and 2.1 bWAR in 116 games for Colorado.

The 6-foot-5 Toglia appeared in just 10 games for the Reds in 2026, hitting .115 (3 for 26). In 97 games at Triple-A, he slashed .273/.373/.547 with 22 homers in 97 games. He missed the final month of the season after having surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder.

Toglia helped Gig Harbor to a third-place finish at the Class 4A state baseball tournament during his junior year of high school.
