The Seahawks have two games left in the regular season and the window is still cracked for them to make the playoffs – so long as they take care of business.

Seahawks Draft: The state of their top four picks in 2023

That means health is of utmost importance, so how is Seattle doing on that front? On Monday’s edition of The Pete Carroll Show on Seattle Sports, the Seahawks head coach shared the latest injury updates on his team. Here’s a look at what he said.

Tyler Lockett, Al Woods and Ryan Neal

Carroll didn’t have too much to share on a few key veterans who were out of action for Saturday’s 24-10 loss to the Chiefs in Kansas City.

He said Monday morning that he had yet to see Lockett, so no word on if he’ll be able to return after missing just one game following surgery to repair a fracture in the wide receiver’s hand suffered on Dec. 15 against the 49ers.

As for Woods, an important figure in Seattle’s ability to stop the run, the big defensive tackle may be in line to play Sunday against the New York Jets after missing two straight games with an Achilles injury.

“He’s feeling better and has a chance,” Carroll said. “He’s been rehabbing over the weekend and we left him here to make sure he had a chance to work.”

Carroll said Neal, a safety who was inactive for the Chiefs game due to a knee injury, is in the same boat.

“We’ll keep our fingers crossed, both those guys have a chance to get back,” Carroll said of Woods and Neal.

Abraham Lucas

The most notable update from Monday has to do with Lucas, a rookie right tackle. Carroll said he has a knee issue, something that was re-aggravated.

“Abe’s gonna get some imaging done,” Carroll said of the Everett native and WSU product. “… I thought it was his elbow but he had had like a patellar tendon thing or something earlier in the year that kind of bothered him and it just popped up again. That’s his issue. Elbow was okay.”

Lucas, a third-round pick, has started all 15 games for the Seahawks and has been half of an impressive rookie tackle combo along with first-round selection Charles Cross.

Will Dissly and Joey Blount

Lucas isn’t the only Seahawks player getting some imaging done this week.

Dissly, a fifth-year tight end, has a knee contusion that needs to be checked out. The former UW Husky has 34 catches for 349 receiving yards, both career-high numbers, along with three touchdowns. He’s played all 15 games in 2022, his third straight 15-game campaign after major injuries cut short each of his first two pro seasons.

Blount, a safety and key member of Seattle’s special teams, is in the same boat as Dissly, as Carroll said he was banged up in the Kansas City game.

The Pete Carroll Show airs at 9:30 a.m. each Monday after a Seahawks game. You can listen to the latest edition in its entirety in the podcast at this link or in the player below.
