Each Wednesday morning this Seahawks season, former Pro Bowl linebacker K.J. Wright has been joining Seattle Sports 710 AM’s Brock and Salk for an hour to talk football, and he’s brought on some of his famous friends along the way.

Seahawks Playoff Chances: What stands in front of Seattle

Following in the footsteps of former Seahawks defensive tackle Brandon Mebane and Super Bowl XLVIII MVP Malcolm Smith as special guests of The K.J. Wright Show, legendary cornerback Richard Sherman joined Wednesday’s edition by phone to talk to Wright, Brock Huard and Mike Salk.

Actually, scratch that last one. Sherman didn’t mind answering questions from Wright and fellow ex-NFL player Huard, but when it came time for Salk to fire a question Sherman’s way, Sherman told him that he was “excused” from the interview.

Yeah. Awkward.

The reason, according to Sherman, was that when the likely future Pro Football Hall of Famer was released by the Seahawks after the 2017 season and moved on to play for the San Francisco 49ers, Salk began talking about him differently on the radio than when he was playing for Seattle. While that’s how Sherman sees things, Salk disagreed with that perspective.

Salk protested the idea that he couldn’t ask a question on a show with his name on it, but Wright jumped back in and the interview continued. Sherman answered a few more questions from Wright, but it was only time before the interview would be cut short. Huard eventually stood up for his co-host, explaining that like the brotherhood Sherman shares with Wright, he has one with Salk stemming from their 14 years of doing radio together, and it became clear they were at an impasse.

And just like that, the return of Richard Sherman to the Seattle Sports airwaves was over.

You can listen to the full segment here or in the player below, and for more from The K.J. Wright Show, catch it live from 8-9 a.m. every Wednesday during Brock and Salk, or find podcasts of the every edition at this link.
