Wyman: A sign of Seahawks pass rusher Darrell Taylor’s big upside

Nov 4, 2021, 3:58 PM

The pass rush of the Seattle Seahawks got off to a slow start this season, but not because of rookie Darrell Taylor.

Heaps: Seahawks’ D improving but needs Adams more involved

Seattle’s 2020 second-round draft pick, Taylor is playing his first season after missing all of last year due to injury, and he’s been impressive enough to lead the team with four sacks – and that’s despite missing one game, too. The defensive end/linebacker is showing why the Seahawks considered taking him in the first round, but as 710 ESPN Seattle’s Dave Wyman explains, he’s also showing that he still has room to grow.

Yes, even with everything Taylor is already doing, the fact that he hasn’t fully grasped something in the repertoire of Seattle’s defense is actually a sign of just how much upside he has.

Wyman, a former NFL linebacker himself who now co-hosts Wyman and Bob from Monday-Friday and serves as color commentator on the Seahawks Radio Network, breaks that down in the latest edition of his weekly Football 101 series for the 710 ESPN Seattle YouTube channel.
