Head coach Pete Carroll had said during his Wednesday press conference that a number of players had participated in the morning walk-thru, but would be limited for the afternoon practice. Below is the practice report for Wednesday.

DID NOT PARTICIPATE

Cornerback Brandon Browner: Non-injury related, but no further details were given by the team.

LIMITED PARTICIPATION

Quarterback Tarvaris Jackson (pectoral): Jackson worked with the first team offense for the morning session but was ultimately listed as limited in the afternoon. Carroll said that while he hopes to “sprinkle” in more first team work for Jackson this week, he also needs to ensure that Charlie Whitehurst is ready should Jackson be ruled out for Sunday.

Tigh End Zach Miller (head/neck): Although Carroll has not specifically addressed it, Miller must have finally cleared his concussion testing in order to return to the practice field. “He’s feels great and he feels like he can go, but we’re going to take it one step at a time during the week to make sure he makes it through,” Carroll said of Miller playing this Sunday.

Running back Marshawn Lynch (back): “I think he is going to be fine for this game,” Carroll said Wednesday before practice. “He feels much better already this week than he did last week at any time, so I think we’re moving in the right direction there.” Carroll said that regardless of whether or not Lynch is available for Sunday, he does not anticipate the team making any immediate roster moves at the position and will work the running backs within the system.

Center Max Unger (foot): Unger has sat out practice the following two weeks with a foot injury. “He feels really good and is encouraged that he can play,” Carroll said. “But again, we’ll just have to survive the week kind of and we’ll load him up to make sure that he’s all right before we get there. But he’ll get enough work where he’ll be ready to play physically.”

Transactions

The Seahawks had announced on Tuesday that the team released offensive lineman Tyler Polumbus.

“With the two guys [Marcus Trufant and Walter Thurmond] going down in the secondary we needed to address that,” Carroll said. “Getting Ron Parker back was a good deal for us – a guy that we had trained through camp, a guy that we think has a lot of prospects for the future.

“But it also gives us a chance to think about getting Roy [Lewis] up and getting him involved as well. We have to make some space to do that.”

Lewis has yet to be promoted to the active roster from the physically unable to perform (PUP) list and with the Polumbus release, one spot now remains open.
