Marshawn Lynch scores endorsement with Skittles

Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch has many different names.
First there was “Beast Mode“. Then came the “Beast Quake“, soon to be followed by the “Beast Shake“. Now?
“Skittles: Taste the Beast Mode?”
After rushing for a 15-yard touchdown during the first quarter of the Seahawks’ 31-14 win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday night, Lynch was seen chowing down on Skittles on the sideline. The attention garnered by the nationally televised broadcast was more than enough for Skittles to offer “Beast Mode” an endorsement.
According to sports business reporter Darren Rovell, Skittles has offered Lynch a 24-month free supply of the candy and a customized dispenser for his locker after the exposure from the game on Thursday night.
While it seems unusual to see an athlete chewing on candy during an NFL game, it’s a tradition Lynch has been practicing since high school when his mom would buy him the candy. Running back Justin Forsett, Lynch’s teammate in college, said after the game that Lynch may receive some kind of ‘mystical power’ from the candy.
The Skittles’ provided enough energy for Lynch considering he rushed for a season-high 148 yards on 22 carries and scored two touchdowns during the dominating victory over the Eagles. Lynch has now scored a touchdown in the last eight games he’s played in.
Now that’s an endorsement any Seahawks fan can buy into.
