The Seahawks have agreed to terms with veteran offensive tackle Alex Barron and three others, the team announced on Tuesday.

Barron, 29, took part in the Seahawks’ rookie minicamp over the weekend, hoping to salvage an up-and-down career that has been mostly down of late. Barron, the 19th overall pick by the Rams in 2005, missed only one start from 2006 to 2009 — playing both right and left tackle — but was among the most penalized offensive linemen in the league.

He spent 2010 with the Cowboys, starting just one game and playing in 11, then went to training camp last year with the Saints before landing on injured reserve with a knee injury.

The Seahawks also agreed to terms with tight end Cooper Helfet, cornerback Donny Lisowski and tackle Andrew Mitchell. All three took part in Seattle’s rookie minicamp on a tryout basis. Lisowski attended O’Dea High School in Seattle before playing collegiately at Montana.

In corresponding roster moves, the Seahawks released cornerback London Durham, linebacker Adrian Moten, tackle Jon Opperud and guard/center Brent Osborne.
