Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said defensive tackle Brandon Mebane will practice Friday and should be able to play Sunday against Carolina despite a calf injury.

“He’s feeling pretty good. He thinks he’s going to be OK,” Carroll told 97.3 KIRO FM Friday morning. “We’re going to kind of ease him through practice today, he’ll get a break tomorrow and then we should be ready to play.”

Mebane was already having a strong season before a dominant performance in Seattle’s loss to the Rams on Sunday in which he made five tackles and was constantly in St. Louis’ backfield.

Mebane didn’t practice Thursday due to a calf injury. He’s dealt with calf injuries before, missing four games in 2010, but it sounds like it won’t keep him from playing Sunday.
