The Seahawks are filling their roster out after losing two players for the season due to ACL injuries.

Can other young Seahawks create buzz and live up to it like Metcalf?

Seattle promoted cornerback Linden Stephens and defensive tackle Anthony Rush from the practice squad on Wednesday and officially placed defensive end/linebacker Bruce Irvin and nickel cornerback/safety Marquise Blair on injured reserve. Irvin and Blair each suffered a torn ACL in Sunday’s 35-30 win over New England, requiring season-ending surgeries.

The Seahawks also placed wide receiver Phillip Dorsett on IR on Tuesday. Dorsett has missed the first two games of the season with a foot injury. He will have to be on IR for at least three weeks before being eligible to play but is expected to return. Center Kyle Fuller’s two-game suspension for violating NFL policy on substances of abuse has finished, so Seattle’s active roster is full.

Stephens made the Seahawks’ initial 53-man roster out of training camp but was moved to the practice squad a day later when the team re-signed fullback Nick Bellore. The 25-year-old cornerback spent time on Seattle’s practice squad in 2019, then went to Miami, where he appeared in three games and made three solo tackles. The Seahawks brought him back on a waiver claim in April. He was undrafted in 2018 out of Cincinnati and had stints with the Saints, Rams and Broncos that year.

The 24-year-old Rush is a 6-foot-5, 350-pound defensive tackle who has appeared in 10 NFL games, including Sunday when he made two solo tackles. In nine games with the Eagles in 2019, the University of Alabama at Birmingham product had nine combined tackles (six solo), three tackles for loss and two passes defensed.

Though the Seahawks’ roster is full, don’t rule out an outside addition with a need remaining in the pass rush following Irvin’s injury. Veteran linebackers Mychal Kendricks, who spent the past two years with Seattle, and Clay Matthews, who had eight sacks for the Rams last season, are free agents.
