After the Mariners relinquished a two-run lead in the eighth inning, Robinson Cano made sure they left Cleveland with their second straight series win.
Cano broke a 7-7 tie with a 404-foot blast off of Indians closer Cody Allen to dead center field of Progressive Field for a three-run homer that lifted the Mariners to a 10-7 victory Thursday. It was the second win in as many days for the M’s in Cleveland, giving them the win in the three-game set. They also won two of three previously in New York against the Yankees.

The home run was the sixth of the season for Cano, but his first to come against a team other than the Texas Rangers. It was also his first homer of the road trip, his last coming in the finale of Seattle’s initial homestand on April 13.
Despite his strong power and production numbers – Cano is tied for the American League lead in homers and RBIs (14) – he’s still trying to get his average closer to his career .307 mark. His 3-for-5 performance Thursday raised his clip from .214 to .246.
