Fullback Michael Robinson is back with the Seahawks, news he broke Tuesday morning with an enthusiastic tweet.

The Seahawks have yet to announce a move with Robinson, who on Monday took a physical with the team.

Robinson, 30, was released at the end of training camp. His age, $2.5 million salary and an unspecified illness that kept him out of the last two preseason games likely led to the Seahawks’ decision to instead keep Derrick Coleman as their starting fullback.

Coach Pete Carroll left the door open for a potential return, which the Seahawks apparently began to consider after Coleman injured his hamstring in Thursday night’s win over Arizona.

Robinson had been Seattle’s starting fullback – along with a special-teams mainstay and a fan favorite – since he was signed prior to the 2010 season.
