unPAC with Brock Huard: Why Oregon had answer against UW Huskies
Oct 23, 2019, 11:12 AM
The UW Huskies played good last Saturday, but not good enough to beat the Oregon Ducks.
Introducing unPAC, Brock Huard’s weekly look at PAC-12 football
The then-No. 25 Dawgs led at home going into the fourth quarter against the then-No. 12 Ducks, but Oregon scored 14 unanswered points to end the game and escape Montlake with a 35-31 win. That boosted the Ducks’ Associated Press poll ranking to No. 11 this week, while the Huskies fell to 5-3 overall (2-3 conference) and have some work to do to get back into the Top 25.
In the second edition of unPAC with Brock Huard, that UW Huskies-Oregon matchup is put under the microscope by the FOX college football analyst and co-host of the Brock and Salk podcast. That’s not all, as elsewhere in the PAC-12, he examines No. 12 Utah’s 21-3 win over the No. 24 Arizona State Sun Devils in rainy conditions.
That Utah-ASU breakdown will be helpful for UW fans, as the Huskies will take on the Utes at 1 p.m. on Nov. 2 after Washington takes a break this weekend. Utah, meanwhile, hosts Cal in a 7:30 p.m. showdown this Saturday before it makes the trip to Seattle a week later.
The UW-Oregon segment should be useful for WSU Cougars fans, as well. The Cougs, who are coming off a decisive 41-10 win over Colorado that snapped a three-game losing streak, will head to Eugene this weekend to face the Ducks. That game begins at 7:30 p.m. Saturday and will air live on 710 ESPN Seattle, which the pregame show starting at 5:30.
