“Seattle means so much to me and Ciara. We’re fired up about being part of the Sounders for a long, long time, having ownership in the Sounders and continuing to build that winning culture,” Wilson said in a news release.
Joining Wilson, Ciara, and Macklemore in the ownership group is a litany of local names in tech and investing. That includes:
Macklemore’s wife Tricia Davis; Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and his wife Adu; Microsoft CFO Amy Hood and her husband Max Kleinman; Microsoft Coroporate VP of Experiences and Devices Joe Belfiore and his wife Kristina; former Microsoft senior executive and current Managing Director of the Madrona Venture group Soma Somasega and his wife Akila; fellow Madrona Venture Group member Terry Myerson and his wife Katie; Twilio Chief Product Officer Chee Chew and his wife, Bellevue School President Christine Chew; Fox Sports Media Group’s David Nathanson and his wife Sabina; former Pandora CEO Brian McAndrews and his wife who serves on the Hugo House strategy committee, Elise Holschuh; and Softbank Investment Managing Partner Mark Agne and his wife Tomoko,
“We come from different places. Some of us were born right here. Some of us are adopted sons, or daughters. But we all are Sounders, and we believe in this club,” Macklemore said in a video announcing the move.
