The MLB Players’ Weekend will return Aug. 23-25, and the Mariners have released nicknames chosen by 27 players to wear on the back of their jerseys for the event, which is now in its third year.

The Mariners will be taking on the Toronto Blue Jays (and their always boisterous fan base) at T-Mobile Park during the weekend, and the teams will be wearing monochrome versions of their uniforms. The Mariners will be in all black (see here) while Toronto will sport all white (see here).

We know why you’re really here, though – you want to see the nicknames. Here’s what the M’s have chosen:

Austin Adams: “A²”
Anthony Bass: “T-FISH”
Gerson Bautista: “YEISON”
Brandon Brennan: “B²”
Keon Broxton: “C.J.”
Ryan Court: “COURTHOUSE”
J.P. Crawford: “CRAWDADDY”
Cory Gearrin: “C.G.”
Marco Gonzales: “GONZO”
Dee Gordon: “⚡”
Mitch Haniger: “MEETCH”
Ryon Healy: “BUBBA”
Felix Hernandez: “KING FELIX”
Yusei Kikuchi: “U SAY”
Wade LeBlanc: “FRENCHY”
Matt Magill: “GOOSE”
Tommy Milone: “TOMASO”
Dylan Moore: “D MO”
Tom Murphy: “STASHU”
Omar Narvaez: “NARVY”
Domingo Santana: “SALOMON”
Kyle Seager: “SEAGER”
Mallex Smith: “WATER”
Erik Swanson: “SWANNY POPS”
Sam Tuivailala: “TUI”
Daniel Vogelbach: “THE BABE”
Matt Wisler: “WIS”

Extra points go to Dee Gordon, who makes a reference to the nickname he shares with his dad, former MLB All-Star closer Tom “Flash” Gordon, by going with a lightning bolt emoji. Daniel Vogelbach shows he’s in on the joke about his resemblance to Babe Ruth with “THE BABE,” and I think the decisions by relievers Austin Adams and Brandon Brennan to respectively go by “A²” and “B²” is a nice touch, as well.

Unfortunately the Mariners just missed out on getting to have a “NEGRON JAMES” on their roster. That’s an A-plus pun game shown by Kristopher Negrón, who was recently traded to the Dodgers.

Another element of the Players’ Weekend, which is entering its third year, is relaxed restrictions on the use of phones on the field. Players can use mobile devices on the field or in the dugout at any point prior to the National Anthem. They will also have the choice to wear a T-shirt that supports a cause or charity before and after games.

You can find the nicknames for all 30 MLB teams at this link.

What’s your favorite nickname of the bunch? Tell us in the comments.
