Jake Heaps’ Film Room: Why final play in Seahawks’ loss fell incomplete

Nov 14, 2018, 3:24 PM

The final offensive play in the Seahawks’ 36-31 loss to the Rams last Sunday was an incomplete pass from Russell Wilson to Tyler Lockett that had a lot of Seahawks fans questioning why their quarterback couldn’t make the throw.

O’Neil: To beat Packers, Seahawks have to re-establish advantage at home

Upon further inspection, however, the problem appears to lie elsewhere.

In former Seahawks quarterback Jake Heaps’ latest trip to the Film Room, he uses the coaches’ film to show what was missed on the TV copy of the game. That brings to light another receiver on the play besides Lockett who initially was open but took himself out of the play, causing Wilson to pull back a throw and force a tough attempt in Lockett’s direction.
