Dave Wyman’s Football 101: Why Bradley McDougald is Seahawks’ best player right now

If you go by the Pro Football Focus rankings, the Seahawks have the best safety tandem in the NFL through the first three weeks of the season. That’s maybe not all that surprising when you consider free safety Earl Thomas is a six-time Pro Bowler and three-time first-team All-Pro. But the other half of the equation doesn’t have the same credentials – at least not yet.
What We Learned: Seahawks can actually run the ball like they say
That may change soon. Bradley McDougald has stepped in to the strong safety spot left vacant by Kam Chancellor this year, and the Seahawks haven’t lost a step. In fact, if you ask former NFL linebacker and current Seahawks radio color commentator Dave Wyman, McDougald is his pick for the best football player on the Seahawks’ roster right now.
In the attached video, Wyman breaks down a big stop on third down in last Sunday’s win over the Cowboys that McDougald made with his “long arm of the law,” and further explains why he has had such an impact for Seattle’s defense in their three games thus far.
