Sounders to host Sporting KC in playoff opener Thursday

Major League Soccer has announced that the Seattle Sounders will host Sporting Kansas City in the knockout round of the 2016 MLS Cup playoffs. The match will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at CenturyLink Field.

After all of the Decision Day matches were said and done Sunday, Seattle’s 2-1 win over Real Salt Lake put it in fourth place in the Western Conference. Sporting Kansas City found itself in fifth after a 2-0 win over San Jose.
