The Seattle Kraken are officially home.
Kraken fans get chance to show Seattle is a great hockey city
The NHL’s newest franchise took the ice Saturday night at the brand new Climate Pledge Arena, which is housed under the same roof the Seattle Coliseum and KeyArena were on the campus of Seattle Center, for its home opener against the Pacific Division rivals from just a few hours north, the Vancouver Canucks.
The Kraken came up short, falling 4-2 as Vancouver scored three unanswered goals after Seattle took a brief 2-1 lead in the third period, but it was a momentous day regardless for the franchise and city.
The team from 710 ESPN Seattle and 710Sports.com were live at Climate Pledge Arena for the opener. Check out photos and videos from 710, video highlights from official NHL accounts, and more below.

Canucks spoil the home opener for the #SeaKraken with a 4-2 win, dropping the Kraken to 1-4-1 to start the inaugural season. Kraken had a lot of good scoring chances and just didn't capitalize. Also 0-4 on power plays. Next up: Tuesday hosting the 1-5 Canadiens.
