Wyman: How Seahawks DE Darrell Taylor dominated vs Steelers

The Seahawks came away from Week 6 with a tough 23-20 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in overtime, but former NFL linebacker Dave Wyman was overall impressed with the team’s performance, especially as Seattle was playing with a backup quarterback and coming off of a fairly lackluster showing against the Los Angeles Rams the week prior.
One player who stood out against the Steelers for the Seahawks on defense was defensive end Darrell Taylor, who unfortunately left the game on a stretcher, but it appears he will be OK and that he wanted to walk off the field on his own, but medical staffers were extra cautious.

Taylor, who leads the Seahawks with four sacks, is a “dynamic pass rusher,” Wyman said.
Wyman looked at a play in the third quarter where, on third-and-7, Taylor showcased great lean off the edge when pressuring Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. Taylor got the pressure, which was rare for the Seahawks in Week 6, and forced the ball out of Roethlisberger’s hands. Cornerback D.J. Reed would wind up breaking up the pass intended for receiver Chase Claypool.
Wyman takes a close look at Taylor’s technique, physicality and more on the play, where he beat the starting left tackle to get to the quarterback, and shared a former teammate who Taylor’s play reminds him of.
