When the Mariners return to T-Mobile Park to start their next homestand this Friday, July 2, the contest against the Texas Rangers will be their 83rd game of the 2021 season. It won’t feel like your typical game from the dog days of summer, however.

Friday’s 7:10 p.m. game will serve as Grand Re-Opening Night for the Mariners at their home ballpark, marking the return of full capacity to the stadium (47,000 for a sellout) for the first time since the end of the 2019 season.
The Mariners announced full details for Grand Re-Opening Night on Monday. Read those below, and to find tickets for Friday or any upcoming Mariners home game, go to Mariners.com/Tickets.
• Festivities begin at 6:30 p.m. with a pregame ceremony.
• After the game, a patriotic fireworks show in honor of the July 4 weekend will take place. It will be the first T-Mobile Park postgame fireworks show since September 2019.
• Evan Manfredo, 9, of Mercer Island will do the ceremonial First Run Around the Bases by a Make-A-Wish child. Manfredo, who was diagnosed with leukemia five years ago, also did a run around the bases on April 1, but due to COVID-19 restrictions it was via video. He will get the chance to “touch them all” Friday in front of the T-Mobile Park crowd.
• Ceremonial First Pitch will be thrown by Washington native Ken Jennings, a Jeopardy champion, host, author and lifelong Mariners fan.
• In a salute to the 2001 Mariners’ record-setting season, Mariners Hall of Fame members Dan Wilson and Edgar Martinez will deliver the game ball to the mound.
• The National Anthem will be performed by a quartet from the Seattle Symphony.
• Healthcare heroes will be on the field pregame holding a giant American flag.
• A group of 162 frontline and essential workers have been provided complimentary tickets to attend the game as guests of the Mariners and MLB. They will include representatives from Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, Bloodworks Northwest and the Boys & Girls Club members.
• Social distancing will no longer be required at the park due to the end of COVID-19 restrictions in Washington.
• The bag and outside food policy will be updated. For more details, click here.
