Seahawks left guard Robert Gallery will miss four to six weeks with a groin injury that will require surgery, Pete Carroll said Monday.
Gallery re-aggravated an existing groin injury in the first quarter of Sunday’s loss to the Steelers. He had missed the season opener with a knee injury he suffered in the preseason.
Paul McQuistan will start in Gallery’s place, and rookie James Carpenter will remain at right tackle.
Gallery, 31, had missed 14 games with injuries over the last two seasons before signing a three-year deal with the Seahawks in July.
