The Seahawks are an obvious landing spot for Bruce Irvin, the seventh-year defensive end who was waived by the Oakland Raiders last weekend.

O’Neil: With Bruce Irvin released by Raiders, return to Seahawks possible

A reunion for the Seahawks and their 2012 first-round draft pick seems all the more likely now that Irvin has reportedly cleared waivers, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

With Irvin now a free agent, his $3.8 million salary will continue to be paid by the Raiders instead of picked up by another team. That drastically drives down his price tag, which would no doubt make him all the more attractive to the Seahawks and any other teams around the league looking for pass-rushing help.

The Seahawks’ defense could certainly use another pass rusher, and Irvin fits the bill. Despite being cut loose by the Raiders, the 31-year-old Irvin is still their team leader this season with three sacks.

While Irvin did spend his rookie season playing defensive end, he spent the majority of his four seasons with the Seahawks as a linebacker, then switched back to DE when he signed with Oakland prior to the 2016 season.

What we’re trying to figure out: Did Seahawks’ defense play good Sunday?
