Ben Gamel, Guillermo Heredia and Mitch Haniger will make up the Mariners’ outfield from left to right, with Denard Span getting the day off in the four-man rotation in Game 2 of Seattle’s three-game series against the Los Angeles Angels.

Haniger is hitting in what has become his customary No. 3 spot in the 7:10 game on 710 ESPN Seattle, while Gamel is slotted seventh and Heredia will be the No. 8 hitter.

David Freitas will catch and hit ninth with Mike Zunino apparently gearing up to play Wednesday’s 1:10 p.m. series finale.

Mike Leake is on the mound for the Mariners, while the Angels will go with right-hander Jaime Barria, who is best known for being the pitcher in the record-setting 21-pitch at-bat by San Francisco’s Brandon Belt earlier this season.

In other roster news, the Mariners announced they have sent minor league outfielder Eric Filia to the Boston Red Sox as the player to be named later to complete an April 23 trade for left-handed pitcher Roenis Elias.

The 25-year-old Filia, a 20th-round selection out of UCLA by Seattle in the 2016 MLB Draft, was hitting .426 (23 for 54) with 10 runs scored, a home run, 14 RBIs and nine walks for Double-A Arkansas in 13 games with the Travelers. He was suspended 50 games in January for a second violation of the MLB’s Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.

Coverage of Tuesday’s Mariners-Angels game begins at 6 p.m. with the pregame show on 710 ESPN Seattle. Here are the full lineups.
