Cornerback Richard Sherman is lost for the season with an Achilles injury and safety Kam Chancellor’s status is uncertain, but the Seahawks may be getting at least one member of the Legion of Boom back for Monday night’s home game against the Atlanta Falcons.

No news is not good news when it comes to Kam Chancellor

Safety Earl Thomas returned to practice in a limited fashion after missing two games with a hamstring injury, and head coach Pete Carroll said he expects the safety to return this week.

A return would be timely — Seattle’s secondary will be tested by the Falcons, a pass-heavy offense who will likely be without its top running back. It would also free up Bradley McDougald, the lead backup at safety behind both Thomas and Chancellor, to fill in at strong safety should Chancellor be unable to play.

Also practicing as a limited participant Thursday was tight end Jimmy Graham (knee) and running back Eddie Lacy (groin).

Seven players were listed as non-participants on Seattle’s lengthy practice report: guard Luke Joeckel (knee), left tackle Duane Brown (ankle), Chancellor (neck), defensive tackle Jarran Reed (hamstring), linebacker Michael Wilhoite (calf), defensive end Michael Bennett (heel), and defensive end Dwight Freeney (NIR – likely just a rest day for the veteran).
