EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – The uncertainty over running back C.J. Prosise’s availability was a question after a report on Sunday morning that he would be unavailable.
Turns out reports of his inactivity were greatly exaggerated.
Prosise is active and will be in uniform for the Seahawks against the New York Giants after missing the last two games because of a sprained ankle.
O’Neil: Seahawks provide little reason for confidence vs Giants
Prosise was listed as questionable as were defensive linemen Naz Jones, Michael Bennett and Marcus Smith on the team’s injury report Friday. All are active for the Seahawks.
The players who are inactive for Seattle: G Luke Joeckel (knee surgery), CB Jeremy Lane (groin), S Tedric Thompson, T Isaiah Battle, G Jordan Roos and DT Garrison Smith.
The Seahawks only have six inactive players because there are only 52 players currently on the active roster. Cliff Avril was moved to the injured reserve last week, but was not replaced, meaning Seattle has one vacancy on its roster.
The Giants’ inactives include receiver Sterling Shepard, meaning New York will be without its top three receivers. Brandon Marshall and Odell Beckham Jr. are on injured reserve. The Giants will also be missing pass-rusher Olivier Vernon and starting linebacker Jonathan Casillas.
D.J. Fluker was listed as questionable entering the game, but is available and will start at right guard.
Giants’ inactives: QB Davis Webb, RB Paul Perkins, LB Calvin Munson, C Weston Richburg, Casillas, Vernon and Shepard.
