RENTON – Seahawks strong safety Kam Chancellor was unable to practice for the second straight day Thursday, an indication that he’s in danger of missing his third straight game due to a groin injury.

Coach Pete Carroll said at the start of the week that he hoped Chancellor could make it back, though he didn’t say it was likely. And it’s looking increasingly unlikely now that he’s missed two straight practices.

Chancellor hurt his groin in practice two weeks ago. Carroll called it a slight pull at the time. Kelcie McCray has replaced at strong safety the last two games and would so so again Sunday at New Orleans if Chancellor can’t play.

Quarterback Russell Wilson was listed as limited again on Thursday due to his pectoral and knee injuries (more on that here).

Also missing practice again on Thursday were left tackle Bradley Sowell, defensive end Michael Bennett, linebacker Kevin Pierre-Louis and cornerback DeAndre Elliott.

Sowell sprained his MCL Sunday night against Arizona. Carroll initially said he was expected to miss a few weeks but said Wednesday that Sowell is feeling remarkably well. He even left open the possibility that Sowell could play Sunday, but that seems less likely now that he has yet to practice this week.

Pierre-Louis is also in danger of missing Sunday’s game. He hasn’t practiced this week due to a sprained ankle that also sidelined him Sunday night against Arizona.

Bennett has yet to practice this week, but the team made him available to the media Thursday, something it doesn’t typically do with players whose status for the upcoming game is in question due to an injury.

Tight end Jimmy Graham, cornerback Richard Sherman and linebacker Bobby Wagner were listed as full participants Thursday after not practicing Wednesday. Sherman’s and Wagner’s absences were listed as not injury-related, meaning they could have been getting the day off for recovery purposes after playing more than 90 snaps Sunday night.

Did not participate

• RB Thomas Rawls (fibula)
• TE Luke Willson (knee)
• LT Bradley Sowell (knee)
• DE Michael Bennett (knee)
• SS Kam Chancellor (groin)
• LB Kevin Pierre-Louis (ankle)
• CB DeAndre Elliott (hamstring)

Limited participation

• QB Russell Wilson (knee/right pectoral)

Full participation

• DE Cliff Avril (groin)
• TE Jimmy Graham (knee)
• CB Richard Sherman (not injury-related)
• LB Bobby Wagner (not injury-related)
• WR Tyler Lockett (thigh)
