Mariners’ Day 2 and 3 MLB Draft selections

Third round (80th overall): Austin Cousino, OF, Kentucky, 5-10, 185 lbs

Cousino, a left-handed junior, is touted as perhaps the best defensive center fielder available in the draft by MLB.com. Originally from Dublin, Ohio, he hit .308 with four home runs, 38 RBIs, 58 runs and 18 stolen bases for the Wildcats in 2014.

Fourth round (111th overall): Ryan Yarbrough, LHP, Old Dominion, 6-5, 210 lbs

Posted a 4-4 record with 3.27 ERA and one save in 17 games (13 starts) with the Monarchs in 2014. Had 60 strikeouts to 25 walks in 82 2/3 innings.

Fifth round (141st overall): Dan Altavilla, RHP, Mercyhurst College, 5-11, 200

Hard thrower who projects as a reliever in the pros, according to MLB.com. Won the inaugural Brett Tomko Award as Division II’s most outstanding pitcher in 2014. Finished 9-1 this spring with a 1.23 ERA in 12 starts, including five complete games. Had 129 strikeouts to 25 walks in 80 1/3 innings.

Sixth round (171st overall): Lane Ratliff, LHP, Jones County (Miss.) JC, 6-3, 185 lbs

Went 8-3 with a 3.08 ERA and 89 strikeouts over 13 starts and 64 1/3 innings in 2014.

Seventh round (201st overall): Taylor Byrd, LHP, Nicholls St., 6-2, 195 lbs

Was 8-3 with a 1.92 ERA in 14 starts, recording 80 strikeouts to 27 walks in 89 innings pitched in 2014.

Eighth round (231st overall): Kody Kerski, RHP, Sacred Heart (Conn.), 5-10, 185 lbs

Went 7-3 with a 2.42 ERA in 13 starts for the Pioneers in 2014, striking out 74 while issuing just 15 walks in 85 2/3 innings.

Ninth round (261st overall): Peter Miller, RHP, Florida St., 6-1, 193 lbs

Posted a 3-4 record with a 5.14 ERA in 17 appearances (seven starts) in 2014. Recorded 53 strikeouts to 31 walks in 42 innings.

10th round (291st overall): Adam Martin, C, Western Carolina, 6-2, 230 lbs

Hit .307 with 14 home runs in 2014, and led Western Carolina with and 65 RBIs and a .574 slugging percentage. Was also a perfect 9-for-9 in stolen bases.

11th round (321st overall): Jay Muhammed, RHP, Coral Spings Christian Academy (Fla.), 6-2, 195 lbs

12th round (351st overall): Nelson Ward, SS, Georgia, 5-11, 175 lbs

13th round (381st overall): Marvin Gorgas, RHP, East Hampton (Conn.) HS, 5-9, 185 lbs

14th round (411th overall): Chris Mariscal, SS, Fresno St., 5-10, 180 lbs

15th round (441st overall): Lukas Schiraldi, RHP, Texas, 6-6, 210 lbs

16th round (471st overall): Wayne Taylor, C, Stanford, 6-1, 205 lbs

17th round (501st overall): Trey Cochran-Gill, RHP, Auburn, 5-10, 190 lbs
