General manager Jerry Dipoto made another minor Mariners trade on Wednesday to add to the bullpen, picking up right-handed pitcher Mike Wright from the Baltimore Orioles.

The Mariners sent minor league infielder Ryne Ogren to Baltimore in exchange for Wright.

The Mariners had an open spot on their 40-man roster, which Wright has been slotted into.

The 29-year-old Wright was designated for assignment by the Orioles on Sunday after 10 relief appearances this season. He is 0-1 with a 9.45 ERA, 14 strikeouts, seven walks and one save in 2019. Wright has allowed 13 of his 14 runs in four outings, and in his other six appearances he has a 1.23 ERA (one earned run over 7 1/3 innings).

A 2011 third-round MLB Draft pick by the Orioles, Weight a record of 10-12 with an ERA of 5.95 over parts of five MLB seasons.

Ogren, 22, was a 12th-round pick by the Mariners in the 2018 MLB Draft and made his pro debut last year with Class-A Everett. He hit .250 with three home runs and 31 RBIs with the AquaSox. In 11 games with Class-A West Virginia in 2019, Ogren is hitting .146 with one home run and three RBIs.

In addition to Wright, the Mariners’ bullpen added Chasen Bradford back from the injured list on Tuesday, and Seattle picked up Connor Sadzeck in a similar minor trade with the Texas Rangers earlier this month.
