Mariners bring up Taylor, Montero; Bloomquist to DL

Chris Taylor and Jesus Montero are up, Taijuan Walker is down and Willie Bloomquist is on the shelf.
The Mariners made four roster moves Thursday following their trade for first baseman/designated hitter Kendrys Morales.
Taylor, an infielder, has been selected from Triple-A Tacoma and will make his MLB debut Thursday night, hitting ninth and playing shortstop. Montero, who was recalled from Tacoma, is the designated hitter and will bat sixth. His call-up may only be for a day as Morales is expected to join the club Friday.
Bloomquist has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with a right-knee contusion that he sustained during his eighth-inning RBI groundout Wednesday.
Walker, the starter in Wednesday’s loss to the Mets, was optioned to Tacoma postgame.
Taylor, 23, was hitting .328 with five home runs and 37 RBIs in 75 games with the Rainiers. The Mariners drafted Taylor in the fifth round of the 2012 draft out of the University of Virginia.
