The Mariners’ lineup for Wednesday’s series finale in Oakland looks a little more like what was intended when they left spring training.

Paxton to miss at least 1 start, but news could have been much worse

That’s because Dee Gordon is back at center field for the first time since May 16, with Robinson Canó getting a start at second base in his second game back from suspension. Canó is again hitting second between leadoff man Mitch Haniger and shortstop Jean Segura, while Gordon is hitting eighth.

In other Mariners news, they placed left-hander James Paxton on the 10-day disabled list Wednesday morning with a left forearm contusion, calling up right-hander Christian Bergman from Triple-A Tacoma to take his roster spot. Paxton was hit in his throwing arm by a Jed Lowrie comebacker Tuesday and was forced to leave after recording just one out in the first inning in the eventual 3-2 loss.

Bergman, 30, has made a pair of spot starts this season for Seattle. He has a 3.97 ERA over 11 1/3 innings with the Mariners, and in Triple-A he is 7-9 with a 5.44 ERA.

Coverage begins on 710 ESPN Seattle with the pregame show at 11:30 a.m., with first pitch set for 12:35 p.m. Here is the Mariners’ lineup:

Mariners (69-52)

Mitch Haniger, RF

Jean Segura, SS
Nelson Cruz, DH
Kyle Seager, 3B
Ryon Healy, 1B
Mike Zunino, C

Guillermo Heredia, LF

Mike Leake, RHP
